"Desenzano is a thriving town combining commerce and tourism, art and sport, traditional food, wine and culture"

At the southern end of the lake, Desenzano is a typical Italian lakeside town, totally unspoilt by international tourism. Much favoured by the Italians themselves as a holiday destination, it offers historical and archeological interest dating back to Roman times. Fishing boats and elegant yachts rock gently in the harbour and the excellent public boat service links Desenzano with other destinations around the lake Narrow streets house antique shops and fashionable boutiques and there are over 40 restaurants, trattorias and pizzerias. Regular classical and jazz concerts are normally held from June to August in the main square and also an antiques market on the first Sunday of the month. There is a large general market every Tuesday
